Gas Main Relocation Project
BPM was engaged by an Australian Bulk Storage and Distribution company to upgrade their major terminal for the Australian market by relocating the gas distribution meter that supplies gas to the boilers in the plant.
This was a time-critical project as there was a need to meet the objective of completion within 10 weeks. The terminal was also operational during the construction period civil works, modifications and tie-ins to existing operating plant and equipment.
This schedule-driven project was expedited by BPM’s strong stakeholder engagement with our client and third parties.
BPM Projects undertook Phase 1- Detail Design which included:
- 3D modelling using AutoCAD Plant 3D and generate piping MTO.
- Engagement of 3D laser scanning and underground utilities survey.
- On-site inspection and engagement with client stakeholders to understand full project scope complexities
- Obtaining all regulatory permits and approval.
BPM Projects also undertook Phase 2, Procurement & Construct, utilising the design development performed during Phase 1 as the basis for performance.
This includes:
- Engagement of sub-contractor for the piping and civil construction.
- Supervision of field construction activities.
- Quality control and inspections.
Outcome
BPM Projects successfully delivered the relocation of gas meter and piping with minimal disruption to Terminal Operations and downtime to gas supply.
