Tallow Expansion

Our Tier 1 Client was seeking to provide 5,000m3 of tallow storage at their major terminal in Victoria. The expansion allowed for additional storage for export of larger cargo.

BPM Projects completed:

  • Evaluation of eleven (11) site location options, which were reduced to three
  • Detailed analysis of the three options to present a single feasible site location
  • Project definition to AACEI Class 4 (-20%/30%) estimate with a corresponding schedule, including a defined project scope
  • Procurement of quotations from three (3) tank construction companies
  • Project risk workshop and mitigation plans.

Outcome

BPM delivered a level of project definition beyond the range for a Class 4 estimate according to AACEI standards. Engineering definition was achieved to 22%.

BPM also identified that two of the three options posed significant execution issues for the project and recommended early that a single option be developed for FEED phase.
